Christmas Market at The Gathering Place

🎄 A Fabulous First! St Athan Community Council’s Christmas Market Shines at The Gathering Place

On Saturday, 15th November 2025, St Athan Community Council held its first-ever Christmas Market at The Gathering Place — and it proved to be a wonderful addition to the village calendar. As a brand-new event, the market brought excitement and curiosity from residents, and it truly delivered a magical festive experience for all who attended.

🎅 Santa’s Grotto Delighted Local Families
One of the highlights of the day was Santa’s Grotto, where children enjoyed a special visit with Santa. Smiles, laughter, and festive cheer filled the grotto as families captured memorable seasonal moments.
A lovely new addition was the Santa’s Postbox, where children could write heartfelt letters to Santa and post them with excitement and pride. Watching little ones craft their wishes and drop them into the bright red postbox added a magical touch to the day.

🛍️ Local Makers Filled the Hall
The market showcased a fantastic selection of local crafters and small businesses, each offering festive goodies, handmade gifts, Christmas decorations, and seasonal treats. The variety and creativity on display made it a great place for visitors to begin their holiday shopping.

🎨 Children’s Craft Table
A free children’s craft table, provided by St Athan Community Council, gave young visitors the chance to get creative. From festive colouring to simple makes, it kept little hands busy and added to the day’s joyful atmosphere.

☕ Tasty Treats from Little Orchard Café & Bakery
Little Orchard Café & Bakery served a range of savoury and sweet festive treats, which were enjoyed by visitors throughout the day. Warm bakes, Christmas goodies, and friendly service helped make the event even more welcoming.

The inaugural St Athan Community Council Christmas Market was a great success — a brilliant celebration of community spirit, creativity, and festive fun. This wonderful new event has already made its mark, and many will be looking forward to seeing it return next year.
